  • Pep Guardiola’s Man City contract expires this summer
  • He could leave even sooner
  • The manager’s replacement is already lined up

Pep Guardiola has already made a decision on his future and so have Manchester City, according to a French news outlet.

Manchester City could be about to lose their manager of the past decade this summer, with Pep Guardiola’s contract nearing its end.

The Catalan boss has the option of remaining at the club another year, but some reports have suggested Guardiola will leave Man City this summer.

Various managers have been suggested as potential replacements, including Enzo Maresca and Vincent Kompany

However, there has been no confirmation as of yet that Guardiola will even bid farewell at the end of the season.

French source claims Man City will replace Pep Guardiola with Enzo Maresca

Nothing can be taken as facts at the moment, but this does not mean there is no merit to what the news companies are saying.

The well-known French site l’Equipe have reported that Guardiola will almost certainly leave Man City this summer.

Apparently, Maresca will be brought in as Guardiola’s successor and this is information of which European executives are aware.

Maresca matches Man City’s winning profile

Although Maresca was sacked by Chelsea, he did a good job at the London based club. In fact, based on Liam Rosenior’s start, it could be argued that the Italian should never have been let go in the first place.

Maresca averaged 1.97 points per march at the Blues and he won the Conference League and Club World Cup last year.

Prior to that, Maresca led Leicester City to the Championship title, proving himself to be a top class manager.

Guardiola’s boots will be difficult to fill, but Maresca has won enough in his few years of management to show he can give it a good go.
