- Three Man City players will be out of contract this summer
- Four more will be in the same situation next year
- Updates have already been given on the future of some players
Manchester City have some big decisions to make about whether to keep or sell members of the club’s squad who do not have much time left on their contracts.
Here is a list of all the Manchester City players whose current deals are set to end either this summer or the one after.
2026
Bernardo Silva
It has recently been reported that Bernardo Silva will leave Man City at the end of the season. This means the club captain only has a few matches remaining before his nine-year spell concludes.
John Stones
With John Stones regularly picking up injuries, it is hard to see how Man City can justify offering him a new contract. The defender has been rock solid over the years, but now seems like the right time for him to move on.
Marcus Bettinelli
During his time at Chelsea, Marcus Bettinelli remained unused and that has continued to be the case at Man City. The goalkeeper might not be useful on the pitch, but he does count as a homegrown player, so there is an advantage in keeping him.
2027
Phil Foden
If reports are to be believed, Man City want Phil Foden to sign a new contract. However, the England international has seen his minutes reduced in recent weeks. He might not be keen on remaining at his boyhood club unless regular starts can be guaranteed.
Rodri
Mere days ago, it seemed like Rodri would definitely depart Man City, due to his perceived interest in a move to Real Madrid. Despite this, Rodri claimed his now infamous interview was clipped to make it sound like he was pushing for a move. It could be that he decides to renew his stay in Manchester after all.
Nathan Ake
City’s Dutch defender is having a house constructed near Chelsea’s training ground, causing rumours to fly about a possible return to Stamford Bridge. Nothing is confirmed at the moment, but it would not be surprising if Ake leaves Man City either this summer, or as a free agent next year. He is not playing enough to be offered a new deal.
Mateo Kovacic
Most of the season has passed by with Mateo Kovacic on the sidelines, due to his long-term injury. The 31-year-old has been out for so long that it is tough to say whether he is part of the club’s future plans.
