Bernardo Silva has come to a decision on whether he wishes to extend his stay and sign a new contract at Manchester City.
Manchester City’s captain has been expected to leave the club for a while now, but the player himself refused to confirm.
Even now, there has been no official statement from Bernardo Silva about what he intends to do when the summer transfer window.
However, one of the game’s biggest transfer correspondents has stated Silva’s plan and it will come as no surprise to the Man City support.
Bernardo Silva will leave Manchester City
According to Fabrizio Romano, Silva will depart the Etihad Stadium for the final time this summer, leaving his club of nine years as a free agent.
For now, the Portugal international is focused on finishing the season in the best way possible at Man City, before deciding where to head next.
Several clubs are said to be interested in Silva, including sides from across Europe, as well as the Saudi Pro League and MLS.
Silva still has a role to play at Man City
Now is not the time for Silva to focus on what comes after the summer. Before that, there is plenty to accomplish with both his club and country.
The 31-year-old has recently lifted the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup win is still very much a possibility.
Also, while Arsenal may be leading the race for the Premier League, the chance remains for City to make a stunning comeback.
Silva will be eager to make this a treble-winning season, before heading off to the World Cup with Portugal.
He has a big decision to make, but it is one which can wait until these important events are out of the way.
