Elliot Anderson snatched two points away from Manchester City on Wednesday night, but he may well be lining up in a sky blue shirt next season.
Manchester City suffered a poor result against Nottingham Forest and Elliot Anderson was the man behind the chaos.
The midfielder struck the ball brilliantly past Gianluigi Donnarumma to give the visitors a draw which was very much against the odds.
However, Man City have shown interest in Anderson and are keen on bringing him to the Eihad Stadium during the summer transfer window.
In fact, it was recently reported that Man City were leading Man United in the race to sign the England midfielder.
Elliot Anderson to Manchester City is a done deal
According to Team Talk, there is growing belief that Man City have already agreed to sign Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
Nothing is confirmed as of yet, but the 23-year-old is very likely to be playing his football in the north west next season, once City seal a £90m deal.
Journalist Graeme Bailey said: “I have to be honest, for several weeks now, from numerous sources, I am told that Anderson to City is a done deal.
“City have been on Anderson for months, since last year. I am told Hugo Viana picked him out last summer as one he wanted.”
“In football circles, the belief is that Anderson is only going to one place and that is City.”
He added: “Whilst City and Forest are not confirming anything, I think that whilst nothing is signed, Anderson knows where he will be playing next season and that will be the Etihad.”
Man City are building the England midfield of the future
If Man City are able to secure Anderson, he will join Nico O’Reilly in the Manchester City midfield.
It is certainly possible that the pair could be regularly starting together for England one day, so there would be a real benefit to Anderson joining City.
He has shown himself to be a very capable player in the middle of the park and a move to the Eithad is the perfect opportunity to step up to the next level and win silverware.
