- Ruben Dias linked with Manchester City exit
- Real Madrid are now interested in signing him
- Chance emerging for Bernardo Silva reunion
Manchester City could lose a second player to Real Madrid this summer, with the club now interested in Ruben Dias.
It is getting difficult to find a player in Man City’s squad who has not been linked with Real Madrid since the season ended.
Rodri, Erling Haaland and Josko Gvardiol have all been mentioned as potential targets while Bernardo Silva is about to join Los Blancos.
Despite coming to an agreement with City’s captain, the La Liga club are still looking to sign another of their players.
Real Madrid are interested in Ruben Dias
According to ESPN Brasil, Real Madrid are now considering a move for Ruben Dias, who signed a contract extension last summer.
This is due to the arrival of Jose Mourinho, who is particularly interested in bringing his fellow countryman to the Spanish league runners-up.
Should Dias join Real Madrid, he would become the second Portuguese star to leave Man City this summer, leaving only Matheus Nunes.
Dias is not guaranteed to start for Man City
Over the past season, Dias made 33 appearances in all competitions. This figure would have been even higher, had it not been for two separate hamstring injuries.
However, the situation at Man City has changed, with Marc Guehi added to the squad during the mid-season transfer window.
In addition to this, Vitor Reis will be looking to break into the first-team next season, while Gvardiol will definitely be staying.
City can still benefit from Dias
While Dias might only be able to fulfil a reduced role next season, he still has a lot to offer Man City at this stage of his career.
John Stones has obviously left the club, and Nathan Ake could end up departing too before the transfer window slams shut.
This leaves Dias as the central defender who possesses the most maturity, experience and leadership.
Therefore, it would be useful to have him around still, even if he is not going to be starting on a weekly basis.
