Omar Marmoush has experienced some setbacks at Man City
Speaking with GQ India, Marmoush has been very honest about the struggles he has faced as a Man City player.
“It [the Premier League] has fulfilled all my expectations and more,” he said. “I would watch the Premier League a lot before I arrived, but to play here is different. It’s way more intense in real life.
On the competition at City, Marmoush added: “It’s difficult, but at the same time it makes you better, knowing that when you’re on the pitch you have to give your best. You have to perform because the next person is there, waiting to take your spot.
“This type of competition only serves to improve you as a player, because if you don’t play regularly you start to think, okay, what can I do to be better?
“My expectations of myself are always the same, but the demands on the pitch are much different here,” he continued.
“At City it’s not about winning today, or scoring some goals, it’s about winning titles.”
Nico O’Reilly reveals Phil Foden’s disappointment
According to Nico O’Reilly, Foden is still coming to terms with missing out the World Cup, having appeared for England at their past three major tournaments.
The left-back has been complimentary of his teammate, as well as ex-Citizen Cole Palmer, who also missed out.
“I spoke to Phil [Foden] and he’s gutted [to miss the World Cup]. I’ve played with both [Foden and Cole Palmer] and they’re amazing.
“It’s unfortunate for them not to make the squad and they’ll be gutted but now is time to rest and be ready for next season.”
John Stones was frustrated by his lack of minutes
While Stones was on the sidelines a number of times due to fitness issues, he struggled for starts even when he was available.
This was difficult for the defender, as he was so determined to play in what is likely his final World Cup.

“Yeah definitely, 100 per cent,” Stones told ITV Sport about wanting to play more matches at Man City.
“And that comes down to a lot of things, a lot of factors. The manager, what was going on. But that’s something I can’t dwell on now.
“It’s always difficult to pick an 11, and I say this to him [Pep Guardiola]. And he knows how much I wanted to play, how much I wanted to be there. And yeah, you can look at it in so many ways.”
Josko Gvardiol will sign a five-year deal

This ends all the speculation surrounding the Croatia international. He is staying at the Citizens, rather than moving to Madrid or Munich.
Jeremy Doku will compete against Omar Marmoush tonight
Belgium will be playing their opening World Cup match tonight, meaning City fans will finally be able to watch Jeremy Doku again.
Egypt are the team they will face, which means Omar Marmoush could be in action as well as the winger.
The European side will be strong favourites to take all three points, but Egypt won when they last met in a 2022 friendly.
And this time around, Marmoush will be looking to inspire his team to do the same, only this time at a major tournament.
