- England are preparing for the World Cup
- Transfer window risks becoming a distraction
- Thomas Tuchel has no plans to block transfers
Thomas Tuchel has offered reassurance in regards to England stars moving clubs this summer, which is music to the ears of Manchester City.
Man City are losing a Three Lions international in John Stones, but plans are in place to sign some new homegrown players.
Nottingham Forest rejected their bid for Elliot Anderson, but the Citizens will keep pushing to sign the midfielder.
Additionally, Morgan Rogers is set to leave Aston Villa, and City are among three clubs attempting to secure his services.
Thomas Tuchel will not block any transfers
There will be time to sign players after the World Cup is over, but Man City are looking to get deals completed early in the window.
This is not a problem for England manager Thomas Tuchel, who will allow members of his squad to take medicals and transfer clubs while the tournament is ongoing. However, there are one or two exceptions.
🚨 Thomas Tuchel says England stars WILL be allowed to complete transfers during the World Cup, with the likes of Elliot Anderson a top target of Man City

“If anyone has the chance to complete a transfer, we will not stand in the way, but it has to align with our schedule and our goals, which is to be focused and prepare for matches. The last day before the match & the second last day, not.
“Until now, no player approached me. The doctor is ready to take any medical if needed! We are always happy to help to have clarity around the player.”
Man City are the frontrunners to sign Elliot Anderson
Manchester United have been interested in Anderson for as long as City, but it is the latter club who are leading the race.
Anderson has already agreed personal terms, so now it is just a case of having an offer accepted by Nottingham Forest.
The 23-year-old wants his move completed before the World Cup, so this could help accelerate a deal.
Morgan Rogers is likely to be a slower process
Unlike the Anderson race, Man City have no substantial advantage when it comes to bringing him to the club.
Rogers played for City’s youth team, and he is open to making a return to the Sky Blues after a few years at Aston Villa.
However, there is nothing to suggest that he would not be up for a move to Arsenal or Chelsea, both of whom want to sign him.
If Man City are serious about adding Rogers to their squad, spending around £100m will be required. And that is on top of a similar fee the club are having to pay for Anderson.
