  • Man City keen on England international
  • He may soon be leaving his current club
  • Lots of Premier League teams interested

Manchester City’s chances of signing a talented England attacker just went up, as he is expected to bid farewell to his current club during the transfer window.

There are fewer than two weeks to go until the transfer market is open for business, and Manchester City are looking to strike early.

Plans to sign England international Elliot Anderson appear to be progressing nicely, while there is another Three Lions star to have taken their fancy.

Man City are weighing up a move for Morgan Rogers, and there has just been a new update on his future at Aston Villa.

Morgan Rogers is ready to move on

According to The Athletic, Rogers is not actively pushing for a move from Aston Villa. However, he does believe now is the right time to take the next step in his career.

The Europa League winners are keen to keep him for at least another season, but a sale could be necessary in order to comply with financial regulations.

Rogers is contracted to Aston Villa until 2031, but this has not put off Man City, or any other club interested in the 23-year-old.

Interest in Rogers is heating up

Recently, Arsenal have joined the race to sign Rogers, as Mikel Arteta’s team look to build on their Premier League title triumph.

Various other teams in the English top flight are also admirers of the attacking midfielder, and he has received traction from across Europe.

Bayern Munich have been in the running for a while, with Vincent Kompany being a fan of Rogers.

Additionally, PSG are tracking Rogers, and have contacted his representatives regarding a potential move.

How much will Aston Villa demand for Rogers?

The Citizens will have to empty their pockets in order to sign Rogers, as Villa are looking for a similar figure to the one they received for Jack Grealish.

He cost Man City £100m back in 2021, and this is the starting price in mind for Rogers before negotiations get underway.

With so many interested clubs, it is realistic to believe that Aston Villa will get a sale in this region. Therefore, City will have to commit fully in order to win this intriguing race.
