Who are Man City’s top 10 highest paid players?
  • John Stones and Bernardo Silva have left Manchester City
  • The pair were two of the club’s best paid squad members
  • Opportunities could emerge to offload a number of others

Manchester City have some players on very high wages, while others are surprisingly low down the list.

Here are the club’s top 10 highest paid players, beginning with the player earning the least among this category.

10. Josko Gvardiol – £200,000 per week

Despite recent rumours, Gvardiol has hinted he will remain at Man City next season, which is exactly what the fans want. As far as wages are concerned, the defender is worth every penny, at least when he is fit anyway.

9. Rodri – £220,000 per week

Considering Rodri won the Ballon d’Or, he seems to be relatively far down the list. Then again, City were paying him while he spent a year on the sidelines with an ACL injury. If the Spaniard does sign a new contract, he will likely be looking for a salary increase.

8. Phil Foden – £225,000 per week

Despite his struggles this season, Foden is set to receive a pay rise when he puts pen to paper on a new contract. The Englishman’s performances have not been good enough to land him a World Cup spot with his country, but on his day he is still a very talented player.

7. Tijjani Reijnders – £230,000 per week

Man City brought Reijdners to the Etihad Stadium for a £46.5m transfer fee, which they probably regret paying, considering his opening season at the club. The midfielder’s wages are pretty high too, and there are reports circulating that he could leave City this summer.

6. Ruben Dias – £250,000 per week

Having agreed a new contract last year, Dias is now among Man City’s best paid players. This has not prevented recent speculation regarding his future, but he is still wanted by his club. Now, the Portugal international’s priority will be finding his way back into the first-team, having missed out on some of the season’s final matches due to an injury.

= Gianluigi Donnarumma – £250,000 per week

James Trafford started both domestic cup finals, but it is Donnarumma who made 34 appearances in the Premier League. The Italian is being paid a lot, but then again, he is being played a lot as well.

= Marc Guehi – £250,000 per week

The Citizens made Guehi their most recent signing at the beginning of February, and while he was available at a discounted price, they are paying plenty when it comes to his salary. Other than his howler against Everton, the centre-back has made a decent start to life in Manchester.

3. Omar Marmoush – £295,000 per week

This is the most confusing one of them all. Marmoush is a good player, but he only made eight Premier League starts this season. Yet somehow, he is earning more per year than Antoine Semenyo, Jeremy Doku and Abdukodir Khusanov combined.

2. Jack Grealish – £300,000 per week

Everton covered 75 per cent of Grealish’s wages this season, but he is set to be Man City’s responsibility again. In fact, Enzo Maresca could give Grealish another chance. Still, his contract expires next summer, and any potential extension is unlikely to include a pay rise, considering how much the attacker already earns.

1. Erling Haaland – £525,000 per week

It is no surprise that Haaland is the best paid player at Man City. His 38 goals and nine assists proved important this season, and he continues to be a consistent performer each year. The striker’s wages are significantly higher than every other player at the club, but it is warranted by his performances.

Where would Silva and Stones have ranked?

Bernardo Silva has up to this point been Man City’s second highest paid player, earning the same amount per week as Grealish. John Stones would be slightly behind, bringing in £250,000 per week.
