- Man City have beaten Liverpool twice this season
- The two teams meet again this Saturday
- Opta have revealed which team is most likely to triumph
Manchester City are looking to defeat Liverpool for a third time this season and the Opta Supercomputer has locked in its prediction for the fixture.
Pep Guardiola has often spoken about how tough it was to face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and in fairness, Arne Slot’s side were a tricky opponent last season.
However, Manchester City have brushed aside Liverpool on two occasions during the 2025/26 campaign.
The first was a big 3-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium, while the second was an action packed 2-1 win in February.
Man City are looking to keep this run going and spirits will be high in their camp, following the Carabao Cup final.
Opta Supercomputer predicts Man City to beat Liverpool
The Opta Supercomputer has made its prediction for this weekend and Man City are expected to get the job done against Liverpool.
Apparently, the hosts have a 51 per cent chance of victory, while Arne Slot’s team only have a 24 per cent likelihood of success.
There is also a 24 per cent chance of a draw. If this were to happen, the match would go to extra time, due to the scrapping of FA Cup replays last season.
Liverpool have been out of form
Man City’s recent results have been unsatisfactory, but the Carabao Cup victory over Arsenal will certainly have been an encouragement.
Whereas Liverpool are underperforming and do not have much to shout about. Indeed, the Reds lost to Brighton before the international break and recently drew at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
Having said this, anything can happen in the FA Cup, so City must ensure they do not underestimate their next opponent.
