Manchester City learn when Josko Gvardiol is expected to return from injury

Manchester City have received an update on when Josko Gvardiol will be back to match fitness and it will come as good news to Pep Guardiola.

Injuries have caused issues for Manchester City throughout the season and this is the reason Josko Gvardiol missed their opening three matches of the season.

The Croatian was able to enjoy a good run of games following his recovery, but he wss once again left stranded on the sidelines after suffering a broken tibia in January.

There were fears Gvardiol could be ruled out for the rest of the season, but a new report may leave Pep Guardiola feeling more optimistic.

Josko Gvardiol could play for Man City in May

When Guardiola was asked if Gvardiol would play for Man City again this season, he said: “I hope so. I don’t know when.”

The manager will therefore be delighted to discover that the defender is ahead of his recovery schedule and is now walking without a protective boot, according to Sportske Novosti.

Club doctors are ‘very pleased’ Gvardiol’s recovery, which is ‘going better than expected, but he is still feeling some pain in training.

With all things considered, Gvardiol is likely to return to action in May, which means he could still play a part at Man City this season.

Gvardiol could return at a crucial time for Man City

Even with a disappointing result against Nottingham Forest, Man City are still in a Premier League title race and there is the possibility of a cup final in May as well.

This means Gvardiol could be available for what turns out to be his team’s biggest matches of the season, so it is essential that he continues to make a smooth recovery.

Man City will certainly be glad to have the 24-year-old back in action, with every player needing to play their part in a final push for silverware.
