Eight Man City players could feature on final night of international break

Eight City players could still feature on Tuesday evening as Enzo Maresca waits for the final members of his international contingent to complete their programmes.

Marc Guehi, Elliot Anderson and Rico Lewis are available for England against Czechia at Wembley, while City also have players potentially involved for Croatia, Algeria and Argentina.

Lewis is a late addition to Thomas Tuchel’s squad after being promoted from England Under-21 duty. Nico O’Reilly will not be involved after withdrawing earlier in the international break and returning to City for further assessment.

City players face final fixtures

Guehi and Anderson both started England’s 7-0 victory over Croatia on Saturday. Guehi completed the full game, while Anderson played 79 minutes before being replaced.

Lewis now gives City a third player in the senior England squad for Tuesday’s final Nations League fixture. The 21-year-old has five senior caps and was originally due to finish the break with England Under-21s before receiving his promotion.

Elsewhere, Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic could be involved as Croatia host Spain in the Nations League, while Rayan Ait-Nouri’s Algeria face Niger in a friendly.

Enzo Fernandez and goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli are also with Argentina for their final friendly of the break against Benin.

Several other members of Manchester City‘s international contingent have already completed their programmes, including Erling Haaland and Ruben Dias.

Once the night’s fixtures are complete, Maresca should have almost all of his travelling players heading back towards Manchester. City return to Premier League action against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
