Manchester City have revealed Bernardo Silva’s next move after his departure from the club.

Optimism surrounding Bernardo Silva signing a new Man City contract dwindled away this season, and eventually he announced his exit.

Barcelona was seen as a potential destination for Silva shortly after his announcement, but he has opted to sign for a different Spanish club.

According to Man City’s official website, Silva has signed for Real Madrid, and he will join up with their squad after the World Cup.

Jose Mourinho has played a key role in the move, as the new manager wants to work with his fellow countryman.

In total, Silva made 460 appearances for Man City, and during that period he lifted 20 pieces of silverware.

While announcing Silva’s Real Madrid move, Man City took the time to highlight his vast achievements in a sky blue shirt.

“Bernardo departs having played a major part in our greatest sustained period of success,” their club statement read.

“His trophy haul includes six Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League, three FA Cup triumphs, five Carabao Cup successes, three Community Shields, a FIFA Club World Cup and a UEFA Super Cup winner’s medal.

“In his final season in sky blue, Bernardo was captain and skippered us to 2026 Carabao Cup glory against Arsenal and FA Cup success over Chelsea.”

“We would like to wish Bernardo the best of luck in his new adventure in Spain.”
