Savinho eager to remain in Premier League amid Man City exit rumours

Share
  • Savinho linked with move away from Man City
  • Tottenham emerging as strong favourites
  • Winger’s desire is to keep playing in England

Despite a difficult couple of seasons at Manchester City, Savinho is still keen to stay in the Premier League.

Savinho’s days at the Etihad Stadium could be numbered after another campaign where he struggled for starts.

It is no secret that Tottenham have been interested in the 22-year-old last summer, and this could be the year where they get a deal over the line.

Spurs are expected to make an offer in the coming days, which means Savinho might already have played his final match for Man City.

Savinho wants to remain in England

According to ESPN Brasil, Savinho is ‘determined’ to keep playing in the Premier League. However, staying at City is not his preference.

Instead, he wishes to move to North London, despite being hesitant about making the switch to Tottenham last summer.

Roberto De Zerbi is expected to complete a squad overhaul, and with talks already initiated with Man City, an official bid is expected in the coming days.

Man City are searching for a replacement

It was recently revealed that Man City could look to sign a winger if Savinho joins Spurs, which appears to be in the process of taking place.

This seems likely as other than Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo, City do not have many natural wide options.

There have not been many rumours regarding this position, but this will obviously change once a bid from Tottenham has been accepted.

Do City already have Savinho’s replacement?

Once Enzo Maresca takes over, he could give Jack Grealish another chance to impress in the first-team, giving City another wing option.

Grealish is obviously much older than Savinho, so he is not as useful when it comes to building a long-term project.

However, if Maresca is able to get him playing at his best, he could potentially do a job for the Citizens next season.

The Englishman was doing well at Everton before his injury, and while City are a big step up, he could prove to be a useful squad player.

matchday.
