- Man City face Everton on Monday
- City need a win to close the gap to Arsenal
- Opta Supercomputer expects a City victory
Manchester City are predicted to beat Everton in Monday’s all-important Premier League encounter on Merseyside, according to the Opta Supercomputer.
With three straight Premier League wins and last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final victory, Man City are in fine form ahead of their match against Everton.
Pep Guardiola’s side trail Arsenal by six points in the title race, after the Gunners’ 3-0 win against Fulham on Saturday.
City have two games in hand, though, meaning they can return to the top spot by winning against the Toffees and Crystal Palace.
Opta Supercomputers expects Manchester City to beat Everton
According to the Opta Supercomputer, Man City should claim all three points when they make the short trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday.
The Sky Blues are given a 52% probability of a win, while Everton have just a 24% chance, and there is a 22% chance of a draw.

Everton are winless in their last nine home games against City, who have kept a clean sheet in their last three away games.
Everton in mediocre form but should not be underestimated
With two defeats and a draw in their most recent three matches, David Moyes’ side are far from their best form.
However, the Toffees are still in contention for European football, and have plenty still to play for in the closing weeks of the season.
It would be unwise for City to assume their opponents will roll over, and Guardiola will know he must prepare his players for a tough battle.
Man City should have enough to beat Everton
Nevertheless, City have more than enough quality and firepower to get the job done on Monday night, and remain firm favourites.
The Carabao Cup winners are unbeaten in the league since January’s derby day defeat to rivals Manchester United.
If players like Haaland, Cherki and Doku can deliver the same kind of performances they have been doing recently, this one should’nt prove too difficult.
However, with just a 52% probability of victory according to Opta, City must be careful to avoid any slips that could cost them vital points in the title race.
