- Hart says City will win the title
Former Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart says he thinks City will win this year’s Premier League title, and won’t drop another point this season.
With weeks remaining in the title race, the chase is on for Man City. The Sky Blues trail leaders Arsenal by six points after the Gunners’ 3-0 win against Fulham on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s side have two games in hand, though, and will return to top spot if they beat Everton and Crystal Palace.
Ahead of Monday’s all-important trip to the Toffees, former City keeper Hart has been discussing the title race, alongside ex-England teammate Wayne Rooney.
Joe Hart says Manchester City will beat Arsenal to title
Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day on Saturday night, Hart argued that the spine of City’s team was too strong for them to slip up now.
He believed the Cityzens will win all of their remaining games, making Arsenal’s results irrelevant in the closing weeks.
Hart said: “I don’t care who Arsenal are going to lose to. Because I look at Manchester City, I look at their spine.
“Their spine is so strong. It’s either full of multiple winners, or people keeping multiple winners out of the team.
"I think Arsenal will win it." 👀

“I’m talking Rodri, I’m talking Bernardo Silva, I’m talking Erling Haaland. That is my spine that I want to be a part of in a title run-in.
And not only that, don’t forget who’s behind it all, another multiple winner, Pep Guardiola. I don’t think they will [drop points]. I think they’ll do whatever needs to be done.”
Wayne Rooney backs Arsenal to win the Premier League
However, Hart’s former teammate Rooney shared a different opinion, with the ex-Everton and Man United striker believing Arsenal will lift the title.
Rooney said: “I think Arsenal will win it, and I felt this after Man City beat Arsenal, as well. I felt that it was maybe in Arsenal’s heads, having to go to Man City and losing to them in the Carabao Cup final.
“But I think still being there, level on points after that City defeat, I think the fixtures were more favourable for Arsenal. I think they’ll win every game, and I can see City slipping up.”
City and Arsenal both need to be perfect
With just a handful of games remaining, neither of the top two can afford even the slightest slip-up at this stage of the season.
Arsenal must win all three of their final games to make sure City must do the same. If either side drops even a single point, it could hand the title to their rivals.
Guardiola and his players have been here before and stood up to the pressure. Time will tell if Arsenal can finally get over the line, but these next few weeks will make for a nail-biting end to an incredible season.
