  • Manchester City’s Premier League match against Burnley has been rearranged
  • The fixture will be broadcast live on Sky Sports
  • City need a win to keep the pressure on Arsenal

Manchester City have been set a new date to take on Burnley in the Premier League, as a result of their progression in the FA Cup.

Man City beat Liverpool 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday thanks to an Erling Haaland hat-trick, as well as Antoine Semenyo’s chipped finish.

Pep Guardiola’s side have now qualified for the FA Cup semi-finals for a record eighth successive season. They will face Championship outfit Southampton at Wembley, who upset Premier League leaders Arsenal 2-1.

With City reaching the semi-final of another cup competition, this causes complications in the Premier League. Therefore, one of their upcoming fixtures has needed to be moved.

Manchester City learn new date for Burnley fixture

As a result of Manchester City’s upcoming semi-final tie, which will be played over the weekend of April 25, their Turf Moor visit will now take place a few days earlier than anticipated.

That Premier League fixture will go ahead on Wednesday, April 22 at Turf Moor. Kick off is at 8pm and the match will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League.

When the two sides met earlier in the season, City claimed a 5-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium. Better still, the Citizens have won 14 successive matches against Burnley and have not lost to the Clarets since 2015.

Man City will face Southampton in their FA Cup semi-final

Just a few days after the Burnley clash, Man City will take on Southampton in their FA Cup semi-final. The exact date and time for City’s FA Cup semi is yet to be confirmed, but it will either be on Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Championship play-off contenders Southampton are the lowest-ranked team left in the competition, giving City a favourable draw on paper.

However, having knocked out Premier League table-toppers Arsenal, the Saints will be hopeful of another major upset. In the other semi, Chelsea will take on Leeds United after the teams overcame Port Vale and West Ham respectively.
