  • Enzo Fernandez has been suspended by Chelsea
  • He will not be allowed to play against Man City
  • The Argentine’s teammates want the club to reconsider this decision

Enzo Fernandez will not be allowed to face Manchester City, but his teammates are hoping to see this change.

During the international break, Enzo Fernandez was deemed to have advocated for a move to Real Madrid. This caused the Blues to slap him with a two-match suspension.

Rodri also made comments about Real Madrid which caused quite the stir. However, Manchester City clearly saw no problem with the Spaniard’s conduct.

Fernandez, however, has not been so lucky and the current ban means he is set to miss Chelsea’s next Premier League match against Man City.

This will come as music to the ears of the Sky Blues, considering the 25-year-old landed on the scoresheet when the teams met earlier in the season.

Enzo Fernandez will not be allowed to play Manchester City

According to Argentine journalist Veronica Brunati, Fernandez’s teammates have asked Liam Rosenior to lift the midfielder’s suspension for the Man City game.

Despite this, Fernandez and his camp believe Rosenior will not change his mind, meaning he is expected to miss the huge Premier League encounter.

In fact, Rosenior has reportedly already ‘virtually’ decided that Fernandez will not play on Sunday, which will come as good news to the Citizens.

Man City need to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge

Pep Guardiola’s team are on a two-match winning streak and they will need to make it three in order to have any chance of winning the Premier League title.

Arsenal still have a nine-point lead at the top of the table, so City simply cannot afford any further slip-ups before the season ends.

If the Gunners defeat Bournemouth on Saturday, their lead will extend to 12 points, so Man City have to be at their best this weekend.

It will not be an easy match to win though, as even without Fernandez, Chelsea will be doing everything in their power to claim all three points.

The Blues are one point shy of the top five, so like City, they have a good reason to turn up and leave everything on the pitch.
