Manchester City handed advantage as seven Real Madrid players absent from training

Seven Real Madrid first-team players are at risk of missing their team’s Champions League tie against Manchester City, having not trained ahead of the game.

Manchester City will be returning to Champions League action for the first time since January and their task is to beat Real Madrid.

The teams already met in the league phase of the competition, with Man City picking up a 2-1 victory at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid will be keen on taking revenge, but they are at a disadvantage, with a number of key players set to miss the match through injury.

Real Madrid have seven players missing from training

Mario Cotegana has reported that seven Real Madrid players did not take part in the team’s training session on Tuesday morning.

This includes both Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, who were ruled out of the clash against Man City a few days ago.

Among the other absentees are Rodrygo, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Dani Ceballos and Alvaro Carreras.

Erling Haaland has trained with Man City

While Real Madrid are missing some important players, Man City have good availability in their side ahead of Wednesday’s clash.

The biggest news is that Erling Haaland has trained with the squad after missing Man City’s FA clash against Newcastle in order to allow him time to get back up to speed.

With the Spanish side at a clear disadvantage when it comes to injuries, Pep Guardiola will very much be looking for a victory in Madrid.
