Rodri may be doing well on the pitch, but things are not going so smoothly at home for the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner.
These past few months have been really positive for Rodri, who overcame his hamstring troubles at the end of the last year and has been playing consistent first-team football.
Manchester City are clearly very happy with what they have seen from the midfielder, as it was recently reported that the club will not consider selling Rodri.
However, Rodri has been fined by the FA for comments he made after Man City’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur and this is just one of the problems currently facing the 29-year-old.
Rodri involved in neighbourhood dispute over his drone
According to The Sun, Rodri has been reported to the police by his neighbours for flying a drone outside the windows of their city centre high-rise apartments.
They allege his drone-flying has invaded their privacy and has allowed the Man City player to see into their homes while they attempt to relax.
One resident said: “I live with my partner on a high floor and the last thing you expect to see when you’re watching telly is a drone a metre outside the window.
“My wife is very unnerved by it. One of the benefits of living so high up is that you’re not overlooked by anyone, but now we are being plagued by Rodri and his drone.”
Another added: “We have seen it flying outside our window and then flying back to Rodri’s penthouse patio.
“He has got all the money in the world and spends his time flying his drone into people’s windows.”
Rodri has made the community WhatsApp group
While Rodri is very much used to being in the spotlight, this kind of attention may come as a new experience for him.
The Spaniard has been the subject of complaints on the building’s WhatsApp group and some have posted pictures of Rodri standing on his balcony while operating the drone.
Also, multiple residents of the building in Salford have asked their concierge to speak to staff who manage the block where Rodri lives.
Greater Manchester Police said: “We have received a complaint and officers are making enquiries.”
