Arsenal currently lead the way in the Premier League, but Glenn Hoddle has been more complimentary about Manchester City for one key reason.
Manchester City will have been glad to turn their focus away from the Premier League last weekend, after a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.
The result has left Pep Guardiola’s team seven points behind Arsenal in the league table, as the Gunners defeated Brighton & Hove Albion on the same night.
There is still time for Man City to catch up and they have a game in hand too, but right now the Premier League is very much in Arsenal’s hands.
Glenn Hoddle says Man City are the best team in England
Despite the current state of play in the Premier League, Glenn Hoddle is convinced that Man City are still the best team in the country.
The ex-England international has been very impressed by the way the City play their football and his comment almost feels like a subtle dig towards Arsenal.
Hoddle told TNT Sports: “I think Man City are still the very best footballing side in the country at the moment.
“When you watch them, it’s the way football should be played. It doesn’t mean they’re going to win everything, but they’re a beautiful side to watch.”
Man City can still win the Premier League
Ultimately, the way to show you are the best team in the country is by winning the Premier League and this is not off the cards for City yet.
There is obviously set to be a huge clash between the 2023/24 champions and the current league leaders and a win in this would surely keep Man City’s title hopes alive.
They simply have to put the Forest result behind them and keep on winning in the hope that Arsenal drop a few points.
