Confirmed Manchester City lineup to face Newcastle in FA Cup fifth round

Manchester City’s starting lineup to take on Newcastle United has been announced, with just under an hour until the teams do battle for a fifth time this season.

Victory is a necessity for Manchester City in tonight’s FA Cup fifth round clash and there will be a feeling of confidence in the away dressing room.

City have already defeated Newcastle three times this season, so Eddie Howe will have had a tough time coming up with a game plan which breaks the pattern.

However, Newcastle are coming into this fixture straight after seeing off Manchester United, while Man City were only able to carve out a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.

With not long to go until kick off, Pep Guardiola has named his starting lineup for what could either be a terrific or dreadful night for the Sky Blues.

Man City make 10 changes from Nottingham Forest draw

Guardiola has made wholesale changes from the team which drew with Nottingham Forest, with James Trafford starting in goal.

Matheus Nunes is the only player who keeps his place in the starting lineup and Nathan Ake steps in for the injured Rayan Ait Nouri.

Nico O’Reilly has returned to full fitness and starts tonight, while Jeremey Doku features on the wing for the first time since his comeback.
