Maurizio Sarri describes Pep Guardiola as a “sacred monster”
Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri has been waxing lyrical about Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
The managerial duo meet again on Wednesday evening at the Stadio San Paolo, where City take on Napoli at their home ground in the Champions League.
In the reverse fixture earlier on in the month, the two sides played out an entertaining match, which City came out on top in.
However, it’s sure to be yet another challenge for Guardiola’s men against Napoli, who will want to keep up their momentum in recent times.
As quoted by FourFourTwo, Sarri heaped the praise on Guardiola, and insisted that he could not be compared to the “best coach in the world”.
I cannot compare to him, a sacred monster and the best coach in the world right now. I like his football philosophy, the idea that his teams always go out with the ball, some movements are [on] the brink of genius and the way City win the ball back in a clean way.
We are talking about one of those coaches who, when they leave the sport, will have changed the way we see football.
City head into the game off the back of yet another win in the Premier League, this time against West Brom, and will be hoping to continue their unbeaten streak in all competitions against Napoli on Wednesday.
