Manchester City fans were delighted to see Leroy Sane’s goal on Tuesday evening as his tap in gave City a 5-3 first-leg win over Monaco in their Champions League last 16 tie.
Most neutrals will agree that the match was a fantastic one to watch, as was the clash between Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid.
One man who will have been devastated to see Sane’s goal, other than Monaco fans, was one German bettor who lost €34,200 because of it.
He’d put a €2 bet on Atletico to beat Leverkusen 4-2 and City to beat Monaco 4-3. He got the first result spot on but Sane’s goal meant the second bet was on a loser.
Sane took to Twitter to apologise to the man in question, although I doubt that will have made him feel that much better!
Twitter: I read about it in the newspapers … sorry for that poor guy
