An end to the Leroy Sane saga finally appears to be in sight, with Sky Sports journalist Dirk Schlarmann reporting that the German international is in Manchester to sign for the Blues, after City agreed a deal for the youngster with Schalke.

City have been chasing Sane for months, and have intensified their interest following the arrival of Pep Guardiola, despite the £45 million price tag being requested by Schalke. The Blues were joined in the race by Bayern Munich, but have beaten the German champions to the signing of the 20-year-old.
According to the Sky journalist, Sane is in England to finally complete his move to the Premier League, with reportedly just the medical and contract signing remaining. This comes after Bild reported that Schalke had offered The Blues a deal in which the English club would pay around £31 million upfront, with a further £15 million in instalments.

Sane will become the fifth signing of the summer for City, following Ilkay Gundogan, Aaron Mooy, Nolito and Oleksandr Zinchenko, although Marlos Moreno is on his way from Atlético Nacional in Colombia, and could be announced before Sane. Gabriel Jesus is likely to closely follow the pair, although he’ll go back on loan to Palmeiras until the end of the Brazilian league season.
Last season was Sane’s most productive in a Schalke shirt, playing 33 times in the Bundesliga alone, scoring eight goals. That was up from just 13 appearances in the 2014-15 season. His performances with the Gelsenkirchen side have earned him call-ups to the Germany national team, for whom he has earned four caps. He went to this summer’s European Championships, but largely remained on the bench as Germany failed to meet expectations.
