Man City in ‘advanced talks’ with Jeremy Doku over new contract
  • Jeremy Doku’s current deal expires in two years
  • Man City are looking to tie him to the club for longer
  • Progress is being made on a brand new contract

Jeremy Doku’s Manchester City contract expires in two years, but this is unlikely to be the case for much longer.

Man City have had some standout players this season, and Jeremy Doku is definitely one of them. Especially when considering his performances near the end of the campaign.

The winger registered eight goals and 14 assists, and he has become pretty much undroppable from the first-team.

However, Doku is not one of Man City’s top 10 highest earners. In fact, he is not even close, as his current deal was agreed back in 2023.

Jeremy Doku is set to sign a new contract at Man City

According to Foot Mercato, Doku is in advanced negotiations to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium to the next few seasons.

Talks between his representatives and Man City are moving along nicely, and an agreement between both parties is expected to be ‘imminent’.

This means the 24-year-old will be continuing at the Sky Blues, in what will be the beginning of a brand new era under Enzo Maresca.

Doku has a long-term future with the Citizens

A few months ago, there were suggestions that City would be open to letting Doku leave, but there is no chance this will happen now.

The Belgian international has taken his game to another level this season, establishing himself as more of a goal threat.

Doku has always been an excellent dribbler, but his end product has sometimes been a weakness in his game.

Despite this, he is looking like one of the best players in the Premier League at the moment, and will be key to City building on their successes from the past few months.

Antoine Semnyo’s arrival has not impacted Doku

When Antoine Semenyo arrived at Man City, there were question marks lingering over whether Doku would continue to be a regular starter.

After all, Semenyo predominantly played on the left wing at Bournemouth, a position where he outscored most players in the Premier League.

But regardless of this, Doku’s displays have been so impressive that there has only been space for the Ghanaian on the opposite flank.

Right now, Doku is forming a really promising partnership with Erling Haaland, and it will be exciting to see just how much he improve over the next campaign.
