  • Move within two points of Arsenal
  • Need West Ham to disrupt their rhythm

Pep Guardiola has made it clear where his allegiances lie ahead of West Ham’s match against Arsenal on Sunday.

Manchester City have kept their Premier League dreams alive with a stunning 3-0 victory over Brentford on Saturday evening.

The Bees proved difficult to break down in the first half, but Jeremy Doku kick-started what turned out to be a strong victory.

And now, Arsenal are only two points above the Citizens, with both clubs playing an equal number of matches.

Pep Guardiola offers support to West Ham

In order for Man City to have a chance of leapfrogging Arsenal, the North London club need to drop points in one of their remaining three games.

West Ham are their next opponent, and Guardiola has not shied away from how much he wants Nuno Santo’s team to win.

Just before leaving his post-match press conference, Guardiola said: “Come on your Irons,” while doing the iconic hammer celebration.

When asked if he would be watching the match, City’s manager added: “Erm, to be honest, yes!”

Pep Guardiola is enjoying the Premier League title race

With City getting a result against Brentford, the pressure is now on Arsenal to secure a triumph in Sunday’s London derby.

Guardiola is very much looking forward to it, and he is enjoying a closely contested race for the title.”I love it! I love to be here again,” Guardiola continued.

“We’ll finish 2nd this season minimum, I love it, I love to be here. Tension? No, no, no.

“When you arrive and have the feeling that the job has been good, well done!”

FA Cup final could relieve pressure on Man City

City are back in Premier League action on Wednesday, but then their attention turns to the FA Cup final next Saturday.

Should the Citizens defeat Chelsea, they would lift a second piece of silverware this season, which is a brilliant achievement.

Many had already written Man City off a few months ago, especially when they drew Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final.

However, City have defined the odds and have a great chance to make a success of their season.

With a match at Wembley fast approaching, even a second place finish in the league would not be enough to spoil what has been a campaign to be proud of.
