Liverpool v Man City: Match details, kick-off time and how to watch

City face one of their biggest tests of the Premier League season this afternoon when Enzo Maresca takes his side to Anfield to face Liverpool. Greater still due to all that has happened since a Premier League ball was last kicked.

Five wins from five matches have given City a perfect start to the campaign, but Liverpool present a different challenge for a team seeking to extend that run.

The match also comes against the backdrop of City’s ongoing dispute with the Premier League following the independent commission’s financial ruling and the club’s subsequent appeal.

Haaland fit for Liverpool clash

Erling Haaland is fit and available for Manchester City after giving the club a scare during the international break. The striker was substituted during Norway’s defeat by Portugal, but Maresca confirmed ahead of the trip to Anfield that Haaland has recovered and is ready to feature.

City will, however, be without Phil Foden as the England international serves the final game of his three-match domestic suspension. Nico O’Reilly is a doubt after withdrawing from the England squad during the international break, while Antoine Semenyo has also been managing an injury concern after pulling out of Ghana duty.

Maresca will nevertheless be hoping his side can pick up where they left off before the break as City look to make it six Premier League wins from six at Anfield.

But, for all of the obvious reasons, a storm awaits Maresca’s men this afternoon. How they handle it will determine the outcome.
