Liam Gallagher has responded to a rumour about Pep Guardiola deciding to leave Manchester City when the season ends.

Pep Guardiola’s future at Manchester City is hanging in the balance, with just one year remaining on his contract.

There have been rumours that the manager will leave Man City this summer, but nothing has been confirmed.

In fact, recent comments by Guardiola have actually leaned in the other direction, indicating he might stay in order to see out his current deal.

Liam Gallagher says Pep Guardiola will remain at Man City

Saturday afternoon saw a new rumour emerge about Guardiola’s potential exit from the club being true.

However, Man City superfan Liam Gallagher responded by suggesting the manager is going to be sticking around.

He posted: “It’s funny that as I’ve just got of the phone with him and he’s said the opposite.

“He called me I didn’t know he had my number he just wanted to tell me not to believe all these malicious rumors,” Gallagher added.

Gallagher’s claims should not be taken at face value

There is no way of verifying whether or not Gallagher’s comments are actually true. Most likely, the Oasis frontman is joking.

It is a known fact that his brother Noel Gallagher stays in touch with Guardiola, but it would be strange for Liam to go behind the City manager’s back and leak information about him.

Guardiola has spoken about having a contract beyond the season, so the best thing to do is presume he is staying.

If this changes over the next couple of months, Guardiola will let the fans know. After all, he would surely prefer to be the one sharing the news considering his decade-long spell at the club.

Now is not the time for speculation about Guardiola

Right now it is a distraction to be talking about whether or not Guardiola is staying when truthfully, no one knows except the man himself.

The most important thing is for the club’s supporters to be backing their team in what is going to be a season defining month.

Man City could achieve a domestic treble, but ending the campaign with just the Carabao Cup is also a possibility.

Therefore, everyone needs to play their part by becoming the 12th man and getting behind the Citizens.
