- Man City face Chelsea on May 16
- Winner claims FA Cup
- Fans not satisfied by ticketing process
The recently formed Citizens Trust have written to the Manchester City board due to confusion surrounding FA Cup final tickets.
Manchester City will take on Chelsea in the FA Cup final and the highly anticipated fixture is only a fortnight away.
The Citizens struggled against Southampton, but managed to get over the line thanks to late contributions from Jeremy Doku and Nico Gonzalez respectively.
Already the excitement is beginning to build, but many supporters have been left concerned that they might not be able to gain entry to Wembley Stadium.
Citizens trust write to Man City
According to The Citizens Trust, there has been a lack of transparency from the club about how tickets are being allocated for the cup final.
The group’s main concern is that official supporters’ clubs are being prioritised over season ticket holders who have attended every match in the competition.
This morning we wrote to the @ManCity on behalf of our members regarding questions around FA Cup Final ticket allocations.

Expressing their frustration, the Citizens Trust wrote: “The majority of the more affordable tickets were purchased very quickly and potentially by members of OSCs who had not previously attended any cup games, which seems incredibly unfair.”
As a result, the organisation have outlined seven requests to Manchester City, which can be viewed on their X page.
The FA Cup final ticket allocation is causing lots of controversy
Man City’s own allocation system is not the only problem to have been raised ahead of the FA Cup final.
Both City and Chelsea were handed an allocation of 28,700 each, meaning roughly 30,000 seats will be occupied by spectators who are not fans of either club.
In addition to this, buying a category one ticket will cost an astonishing £175, while the cheapest adult tickets are £50.
City need to listen to their fans
Recently, Man City decided to freeze season ticket prices, which was an excellent move to show their appreciation to the club’s supporters.
However, there has been controversy surrounding some fans being moved to make way for a new hospitality area in the recently expanded North Stand.
It is therefore essential that City keep listening to what their followers have to say, because football is nothing without the fans.
