  • Pep Guardiola is out of contract next summer
  • He could leave Man City even sooner
  • One national team are assessing his situation

Pep Guardiola could soon have the option to leave Manchester City in exchange for becoming the next manager of a national team who find themselves in desperate need.

The Bernardo Silva saga is finally over, with confirmation given that the captain will leave Manchester City at the end of the season.

However, there are still some unresolved matters at the club. One big one is Rodri’s transfer development and whether or not he will push for a Real Madrid move this summer.

Then of course, there is the uncertainty surrounding Pep Guardiola, who is yet to make a decision regarding his future at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola could be handed the chance to manage Italy

According to Gazzetta, Gennaro Gattuso is likely to depart Italy after the 2006 World Cup winners failed to qualify for the tournament later this year.

There are a few potential options for the national team, one of whom is said to be Manchester City manager Guardiola.

The Italian news outlet are certain the Catalan boss will leave his current club and he has no financial problems, making him a solid choice.

Guardiola could make the switch from club to international football

Recently, Guardiola has revealed that he would like to manage an international team at some point in the future.

Therefore, it could be that he decides to seek opportunities to do this, and an offer from Italy might soon be on the table.

With the Euros taking place in two years, he would have time to turn the team’s fortunes around after their abysmal World Cup qualifying exit.

However, Guardiola is still the Man City manager for now and he will be keen to keep his primary focus on finishing the season with another trophy lift.
