- Man City fans launch new supporters’ trust
- It will be known as the Citizen’s Trust
- The group will handle a variety of issues
Manchester City supporters have launched a new group to make positive changes to the club and represent their interests.
The Citizens Trust has today been established in order to act as the missing link between Manchester City and the club’s supporters.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Trust will be led by an interim board of nine fans who aim to work with the club to protect and support the interests of City supporters.
Man City are the last of the so called Big Six clubs to have their own supporters’ trust and many saw such an arrangement as long overdue.
The Citizens Trust will build a collective voice for Man City fans
Nick Clarke, the interim chair of the new trust, believes the modern game has left fans feeling disenchanted with their club and TCT will make a bid to change this for good.

City are one of few clubs in the Football League without a supporters trust advocating for our fans. Today, we put that right 🩵

He said: “The lack of a supporters’ trust at City has long been a missing link in the chain between the club and its fans.
“Now, our fans have an opportunity to build a strong, collective voice to reinforce that link. Supporters across the country feel increasingly disconnected from the modern game, often feeling powerless to decisions impacting both their clubs and traditions they’ve built over generations – Blues are no different.
“This is our chance to begin reversing that trend at City in a really positive way.”
TCT will campaign on another of issues
In a statement, The Supporters Trust wrote: “[Our operation will] include campaigning on issues that impact the supporter experience such as ticket prices, unnecessary restrictions on how season cards can be used, accessibility, fixture scheduling, terms and conditions and more.
“It also means taking steps to improve the lives of their members outside of football through events, health and wellbeing schemes, partnering with third parties who can offer advice, and reaching out into our local communities.”

Tom Greatrex, chair of the Football Supporters’ Association, is happy to see the new organisation be brought to life.
He said City fans “have been a strong campaigning force on various important issues such as ticket prices and facial recognition technology in recent seasons.
“The trust will provide a democratic, inclusive, powerful voice for the club’s fans and we’d encourage all supporters to get involved as members”.
