Ex-Manchester City and Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given has backed his former team to beat Liverpool in Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Given and the rest of the panel offered their predictions ahead of the weekend’s headline fixture at the Etihad.
Alongside Given, former Man City stars Owen Hargreaves, Joe Cole and Joleon Lescott also predicted a win for the hosts. In facts so did former Arsenal man Martin Keown.
These pundits are not alone in their prediction, with Opta’s Supercomputer backing City to beat Liverpool as well.
Presenter and Ex-Lionesses winger Karen Carney was the only member of the TNT panel to back Liverpool ahead of Saturday’s game.
Shay Given Predicts Manchester City Win Against Liverpool
Discussing Saturday’s massive FA Cup quarter-final, Given was confident his former side would secure the win.

He said: “I’m gonna go my old team, Man City. I think Pep Guardiola, it could be his last season and he wants to go out with a few trophies, so I’m gonna have to go Man City.”
The Citizens have beaten Liverpool twice already this season, recording 3-0 and 2-1 home and away victories in the Premier League to secure a first league double over the Reds since 1936/37.
Will This Really Be Guardiola’s Last Season At Man City?
There has been plenty of speculation on Pep Guardiola’s future at Man City and Given has of course suggested the manager may leave.
The Catalan boss has refused to rush any decision, and is expected to wait until the end of the season before announcing his future plans.
However, reports have suggested the club are already preparing for life after Gaurdiola, and have begun identifying potential replacements.
