  • Pep Guardiola is yet to make a decision regarding his future
  • The manager still has one year remaining on his contract
  • There is now a timeline for when he will decide his next step

Pep Guardiola has decided when he will make up his mind on whether to stay at Manchester City until his contract expires next year.

It has been widely known for some time that Pep Guardiola is not going to extend his time at Manchester City beyond 2027.

However, there is a lingering question mark over whether he will still be at the club next season. After all, Man City have reportedly identified six replacements and appear to be ready for his departure.

The club are even said to have asked Guardiola to make a decision on his future, but this claim has now been thrown into disrepute.

Pep Guardiola is not ready to make a decision on his role at Man City

According to the Telegraph, Man City are not forcing an answer out of Guardiola. In fact, he will wait until the end of the season to inform the club of his intentions.

Currently, the manager has ‘genuinely’ not decided whether he wants to stay at City, or bid farewell this summer.

With all that Guardiola has offered the Citizens over the years, they have agreed to be patient in letting him weigh up his options.

Still, this does make life more complicated and Man City have no choice but to draw up contingency plans in case the Catalan boss does decide to step down in May.

Guardiola has a big couple of months ahead

It is not yet clear what Guardiola’s motives are ahead of this summer. On the one hand, he might want to go out on a high after winning another piece of silverware.

However, there is also the possibility that he would step down if City failed to win another trophy, due to his lack of belief in the squad being successful next season.

Whatever the case, Guardiola will be determined to claim even more triumphs this season and then he will have time to think about what comes next.
