  • Pep Guardiola has one year remaining on his Man City contract
  • Some sources have claimed he will leave this summer
  • Joe Hart is not convinced based on what he has seen

Pep Guardiola is rumoured to be exiting Manchester City once the season is over, but Joe Hart has offered a different verdict on the manager’s future.

Manchester City are rumoured to be searching for a new manager, but at this point it is still not clear if Pep Guardiola will depart this summer.

Some sources have claimed Guardiola will leave Man City, while it has been reported that the club have identified six potential successors.

However, there is no concrete news as of yet about whether the Catalan boss will stay or go once the campaign reaches its end.

Joe Hart thinks Pep Guardiola will remain at Man City

While confirmation is yet to be given on Guardiola’s situation, ex-Citizen Joe Hart believes he could see out his contract at the club.

According to the retired goalkeeper, Guardiola’s touchline behaviour in the Carabao Cup final showed he is still highly invested in his team of the last decade.

“The way Pep was reacting with how invested he was, people think he’s got one toe out of Manchester City,” Hart told The Breakdown on TNT Sports

There was no sign of that was there? He was ready to scrap, he was fighting, he was living and breathing everything they were doing.”

Man City have asked Guardiola to make a decision

talkSPORT have reported that City sporting director Victor Viana is still in the dark about Guardiola’s plans for the summer.

Man City have formally asked Guardiola if he plans to see out his contract and they had hoped he would confirm his stay during the international break.

This needs to happen soon, as Elliot Anderson and other transfer targets are factoring in the manager’s future before making a decision on joining the Sky Blues.

Despite this, City remain calm and have contingency plans in place, in the event Guardiola decides to hand in his resignation in a few months’ time.
