- Man City have been linked with Sandro Tonali
- The Italian’s representatives are exploring his options
- They have contacted a club City know all too well
Manchester City are considering a summer swoop for Sandro Tonali, but his team are eyeing up a potential move to another European giant.
There can be no doubt that Manchester City are looking to secure a new midfielder when the transfer window reopens.
It is well known that Man City want Elliot Anderson and the club are growing more confident of agreeing a £100m deal. However, Sandro Tonali has also been linked with City.
At least one of these players is likely to make the Etihad Stadium their new home this summer. In fact, Man City could attempt to sign both midfielders.
Despite this, Tonali is attracting a lot of interest and it would seem the Newcastle man’s representatives want to keep his options open.
Real Madrid could compete with Man City to sign Sandro Tonali
According to Team Talk, Real Madrid have been informed of Tonali’s availability and he has been added to the club’s shortlist.
Apparently, Los Blancos have been prioritising a move for Man City’s Rodri, while Enzo Fernandez and Alexis Mac Allister are also being monitored.
PSG and Bayern Munich are other clubs who have been contacted by Tonali’s agents, so Man City could face competition from teams across the continent.
Man City could sign Tonali for £80m
Newcastle have no desire to sell Tonali, but they could be tempted to sell up for £80m. The 25-year-old is not actively pushing to leave, but he might do so soon by using the club’s lack of Champions League football next season to justify his exit.
Ultimately, the Magpies will do everything in their power to keep Tonali at St James’ Park, but successfully fighting off Europe’s biggest clubs is a long shot.
Many rival clubs expect Man City to win the race for Tonali, but the job is not done yet. With Real Madrid entering the frame, the Sky Blues need to act quickly.
