Manchester City have entered the race to sign Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali, but clubs from across Europe are lining up for the midfielder.

With Bernardo Silva likely on his way out of Manchester City and Rodri’s future uncertain, it makes sense to explore midfield options ahead of the summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Sandro Tonali is a player whose situation is now being followed by the Citizens.

The Italian has already made 47 appearances in all competitions this season, but he could be persuaded to move in order to keep playing in the Champions League next year.

Man City are not the only club interested in Sandro Tonali

Team Talk have reported that even if Man City sign Elliot Anderson, they might still look to sign Tonali, who would come at a cost of around £100m.

The player’s camp are considering potential options, With Inter Milan and Juventus both interested, but his price is an issue.

Bayern Munich and PSG are also in the mix, while Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been spoken to this month, as well as Man City.

Tonali is almost certain to leave Newcastle

It seems Tonali is very much in demand, so the chances of him remaining at the Magpies are very slim indeed.

Newcastle are currently ninth in the Premier League table, which means they will not even be competing in Europe next season as things stand.

The question is not really about whether he will remain in the north east, but which team he will choose to join when the time comes.
