Nico O’Reilly has been recognised by EA Sports after his match-winning performance for Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

Manchester City had a truly phenomenal weekend, which ended with a trophy presentation at Wembley Stadium.

This was only possible because of Nico O’Reilly, who scored two second half goals which saw Man City defeat Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final.

The England international capitalised on Kepa Arrizabalaga’s error to net his first and the second was the result of a brilliant header.

Nico O’Reilly named in EA FC team of the week

EA FC have released their team of the week, a 23-player squad which features professionals from all across the world.

Nico O’Reilly has been named in the starting XI after his superb display and the video game creators assigned him with an 87.2 rating.

Man City women’s player Bunny Shaw also made the team, having set a new record for the fastest ever hat-trick in the Women’s Super League last weekend.

O’Reilly will look to build on his Man City form with England

After his brilliance last Sunday, O’Reilly is now with his national team’s squad, as he prepares for England’s friendly against Uruguay on Friday night.

The 21-year-old has only made two appearances for his country, so this is a good opportunity to cement his place in Thomas Tuchel’s side ahead of the World Cup.

O’Reilly has impressed as a left-back and in midfield for Man City, so he should have a role to play for the Three Lions this summer.
