- Man City have an important Premier League fixture coming up
- Failure to win it could hand Arsenal the title
- Bernardo Silva could end up being ruled out of the match
Bernardo Silva is at risk of missing Manchester City’s upcoming meeting with Arsenal due to his own actions.
Manchester City have been lucky to have Bernardo Silva performing so well over the years, but this does not mean the club captain is perfect.
Indeed, Silva has lacked discipline this season and he was recently sent off against Real Madrid, receiving a stright red card.
There have also been a couple of occasions when Silva has been deemed luckly to remain on the pitch, mostly due to his intense challenges.
The midfieler has already received one Premier League suspension this season and if he is not careful, he could soon be handed a second.
Bernardo Silva could miss Man City’s match against Arsenal
Man City’s upcoming clash with Arsenal is huge. If City lose, the Gunners are going to win the Premier League, but a victory could knock them off their course.
However, Bernardo Silva will not be eligible to play if he picks up a booking when Man City play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
This is because the Portugal international is on nine yellow cards and one more would see him slapped with a two-match suspension.
Should Silva avoid this fate but receive a yellow card against Arsenal, he would miss Man City’s following two fixtures.
Silva will want a strong finish to his Man City career
With no reports suggesting Silva is going to sign a new contract, it seems inevitable that he will leave Man City this summer.
The 31-year-old will already be leaving with a Carabao Cup, but his final days would be tainted by another suspension.
It would be irresponsible of the captain to have to miss some of his last matches for the club due to poor decision-making.
Silva must ensure he keeps his composure in his next couple of starts, so he is able to play as much as possible before turning the page on his next chapter.
