  • Man City want to sign Elliot Anderson
  • Nottingham Forest are determined to keep him
  • The midfielder is focused on the Premier League and World Cup

Elliot Anderson is receiving interest from Manchester City, but he is focusing on two things before even thinking about a summer transfer.

Manchester City have already been linked with a number of players ahead of this summer, but there really does seem to be some substance in the Elliot Anderson rumours.

It has been reported that Man City are leading the race to sign Anderson and their interest in securing his signature is not going away.

However, the midfielder has to give his approval before switching clubs and right now he is keen to concentrate on the present.

Elliot Anderson is focused on Nottingham Forest and England

According to Sky Sports, Anderson is in no hurry to make changes to his future before the World Cup and he has not spoken to any clubs.

The 23-year-old is contracted to Nottingham Forest for another three years and they are keen to keep him at the City Ground for as long as possible.

Anderson wants to progress his career, but right now his primary goal is to help Forest avoid relegation from the Premier League. His attention will then move to the World Cup, as he aims to receive a call-up to play in his first major international tournament.

Manchester United are another team who are interested in Anderson, while he also has admirers at Arsenal.

Man City will not replace Bernardo Silva with Anderson

It is no secret that Bernardo Silva is expected to leave Man City this summer, but Anderson would not be seen as the captain’s replacement.

Instead, it is the futures of Matteo Kovacic and Nico Gonzalez who could have more influence on whether City are able to sign the England international.

However, Anderson may be keen to learn about Pep Guardiola’s plans at Man City before agreeing to a move and this too is uncertain for the time being.
