- A City Football Group manager is keen on the Manchester City job
- The club are yet to make a decision
- His team are currently struggling to hit their previous heights.
One La Liga manager has greenlit a move to Manchester City this summer, but there are two things which need to happen before this can take place.
Manchester City are on the lookout for a Pep Guardiola replacement, with the club said to be resigned to a possible exit this summer.
It was yesterday reported that Man City have identified Enzo Maresca as their preferred option to take over when Guardiola departs.
However, he is not the only manager in the mix. In fact, Girona’s manager has just put himself forward for the job.
Michel is ‘ready’ to take charge of Manchester City
Girona boss Michel has been linked with Man City, which makes sense considering the club are owned by the City Football Group.
The Spaniard has given his thoughts on the potential switch and he would be very pleased to take the next step in his managerial career.
Michel told La Otra Grada, via Estadio Deportivo: “I am ready, I consider myself ready to coach any team.
“I don’t know if they [at Man City] see it the same way. Obviously, it’s not the same environment, but I have the ability to adapt, and I want to try.”
Michel has struggled in recent times at Girona
Back in the 2023/24 season, Michel did a tremendous job, leading Girona to a third place finish in La Liga.
However, they finished 33rd in the league phase of the Champions League the next season and only avoided relegation from the Spanish top flight by a single point.
Even now, Girona are only 12th in the league table, raising questions over whether he is really the right man for the Citizens.
