- Manchester City will play Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final this Sunday
- Antoine Semenyo has never competed in a final before
- He is ready and determined to get the win.
Antoine Semenyo has revealed his mindset ahead of playing in a final for the first time in his career.
Manchester City are up against Arsenal this Sunday in the Carabao Cup final and it is a huge match for Antoine Semenyo in particular.
The winger enjoyed getting a taste of Premier League football with Bournemouth, but he never played in a cup final during his time at the Vitality Stadium.
Yet now, just a couple of months into his Man City, Semenyo will have the chance to compete for the Carabao Cup at Wembley.
Antoine Semenyo is ready to help Man City to victory
Semenyo is feeling confident in his abilities ahead of the League Cup final, despite his lack of experience playing in these sorts of matches.
Most importantly, he is determined to do what he can to help his team to a win over Arsenal, a team who remain unbeaten since January.
Speaking to Peter Barnes, Semenyo told Man City: “Yeah, I’ve never ever competed in a final before, but like I said, I’m ready, I’m competitive. I always want to win regardless, so to win a medal at the end of it would be amazing and God willing that happens.”
Semenyo will be hoping to start for Manchester City
It is highly likely that Semenyo will play at least some of the Carabao Cup final, but he will be wanting to start the game.
This would have been expected, but the Ghanian international was left out of the starting lineup when Man City played Real Madrid in midweek.
Semenyo will not be bothered whether he is instructed to play on the wing or through the middle. Instead, he will just be focused on doing what he can to help bring the trophy back to Manchester.
