Manchester City could look to resolve their right-back shortage with a former player of the club who is currently playing his football in the Premier League.
Matheus Nunes has been the player occupying Manchester City’s right side of defence this season and he has done a good job.
However, Pep Guardiola clearly needs a second option, which has caused Man City to combine a list of multiple potential signings in the position.
Tino Livramento has been mentioned as a player of interest and the names of even more players are continuing to be sounded as the summer approaches.
Manchester City are keeping tabs on Pedro Porro
Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro is the latest right-back to be linked with Manchester City, according to Ekrem Konur.
Spurs are on the edge of the Premier League relegation zone and this situation could cause the Spanish international to move on once the season ends.
Man City are yet to log an official bid, but the club have been tracking Porro and their interest is said to be strong.
Porro has not hit his usual heights this season
On his day, Porro is a versatile full-back who knows how to cross the ball with great precision, but this season he has not looked like himself.
There have been times when his defending has not been good enough, while the Tottenham fans have not always been impressed by his attitude.
City have been linked with a move for Porro in the past and nothing ever came to fruition and based on his recent displays, it is hard to see why they would return for him.
Still, perhaps Guardiola can see how good the 26-year-old has shown he can be in a more positive environment. Stick him in a better-performing squad and maybe he is exactly the type of player Man City need.
