Pep Guardiola has been named as the Premier League manager of the month for February, meaning now only two bosses have won the award more times.

Manchester City may be having a tough time now, but February was a different story. Although the month started with a draw against Tottenham Hotspur, every other result was a well-fought victory.

Certain members of the Man City squad have really stepped up and this has been reflected by the fact Antoine Semenyo has won the player of the month award

Credit must also go to Pep Guardiola and he too has been recognised for City’s displays, with the boss picking up the Premier League manager of the month honour.

Pep Guardiola has moved ahead of David Moyes in the manager of the month rankings

Guardiola had surprisingly not been named as manager of the month since December 2021, that is until now.

This is his 12th time claiming the award, which means he has now won it more times than Everton head coach David Moyes.

The Man City manager only needs three more wins in order to match Arsene Wenger’s record, but he is unlikely to ever catch Sir Alex Ferguson

Man City defeated four Premier League clubs in February

Although Spurs made a surprising comeback on the first day of the month, Man City bounced back and defeated Liverpool in an action-packed game at Anfield.

Next came a 3-0 thrashing of Fulham, before narrow victories against Newcastle and Leeds United respectively.

Since March began, life has not been so pleasant for Guardiola, with City drawing against Nottingham Forest.

However, like February, Guardiola’s team still have time to turn things around and make March a month with plenty of wins, beginning with West Ham tonight.
