West Ham vs Manchester City: a look at the Hammers’ five most recent results

Manchester City need to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, but their next opponents have recently hit some decent form.

The Champions League is not looking good for Manchester City and neither is the Premier League based on their previous match in the competition.

Man City were unable to secure a victory against Nottingham Forest, causing Arsenal to take a seven-point lead at the top of the table.

This Saturday, City are back in action and they must face another team who are fighting very hard to avoid being relegated to the Championship.

West Ham’s five most recent results

Burton Albion 0-1 West Ham – FA Cup fourth round

West Ham were taken to extra time against Burton, but progressed after a 95th minute goal scored by Crysencio Summerville, even though Freddie Potts was sent off.

West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth – Premier League

The Hammers picked up a point against Bournemouth, but they only managed two shots on target, despite making 18 attempts in total.

Liverpool 5-2 West Ham – Premier League

Although West Ham managed to have as much possession of the ball as Liverpool, Arne Slot’s team were on point in attack across both halves.

Fulham 0-1 West Ham – Premier League

Summerville was the hero as West Ham picked up a big win at Craven Cottage, despite the hosts topping almost every stat.

West Ham 2-2 Brentford (5-3 on penalties) – FA Cup fifth round

Jarrod Bowen delivered both West Ham’s goals but this was not enough to get a win in the FA Cup. However, the Irons won a penalty shootout to see off Brentford.

West Ham are unbeaten in their past five home matches

It seems West Ham are particularly good at the London Stadium, as they have not recorded a defeat there since January 6.

Other than the Liverpool defeat, their recent form has been quite promising, which means Man City will need a good performance in order to pick up all three points.

There is a lot at stake for both teams, so it is likely to be a closely contested battle, but City must ensure they come out on top. Otherwise, Arsenal will be pretty much guaranteed the Premier League title, that is if they are able to defeat Everton.
