Manchester City battling nine clubs for future ‘world class’ Premier League defender

Manchester City have been linked with another right-back, but other clubs from both the Premier League and across Europe are also lining up for the defender.

Based on recent transfer speculation, it would seem Manchester City are looking for a new right-back, despite Matheus Nunes impressing in the position.

Recent reports have stated Man City are willing to spend big on Tino Livramento, even if that means parting ways with £70m. However, he is not the only right sided defender on the club’s radar.

Another transfer story revealed Man City could be given the chance to sign Denzel Dumfries, a player who has long been sought after by the club.

Manchester City are fighting to sign Michael Kayode

According to Team Talk, City have identified Michael Kayode as another right-back who could fit their needs, having been impressed by his dynamic style, combining pace and physicality.

There is a real belief at Brentford that their defender will become world class in the future and he is believed to be valued at around £60m.

Unfortunately for City, Kayode has been attracting a lot of interest and Manchester United are stepping up their scouting efforts. There is also competition from three other Premier League teams and five other European heavyweights.

The Premier League clubs are believed to be Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur. Also, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG, Juventus, and Inter Milan have kept tabs on the player, with some considering loan-to-buy possibilities.

Kayode’s agent may be pushing for a move away from Brentford

Man City could take encouragement from the fact that Kayode’s agent recently hinted at a third step in the 21 year old’s career after Fiorentina and Brentford.

This could mean Kayode is looking to take the next step in his career and making a move to the Etihad Stadium would be considerable progress.

Despite this, Brentford have not yet received any bids for the youngster and they appear content to keep him in West London.
