Man City Predicted XI: Crystal Palace (H)

Manchester City will look to consolidate their unbeaten run in the Premier League when they take on Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s men come into this game on the back of a narrow 2-1 win away to West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns in the Carabao Cup, with Leroy Sane getting both of City’s goals. It was a game that City could easily have lost on another day after missing countless opportunities to end the match as a contest. Last weekend, City got their biggest victory of the season when they beat Watford 6-0 at Vicarage Road to take them to joint-top of the table with rivals Manchester United.

Opponents Crystal Palace have had a terrible start to the season, with five losses in their first five league games. After previous new manager Frank De Boer was sacked after four games in charge, former England manager Roy Hodgson was brought in last week as his replacement. Last week’s loss at home to Southampton was a major setback in Hodgson’s managerial redemption. The recent victory against Huddersfield in the Carabao Cup will boost Palace’s confidence going into this weekend’s match.

The last time these sides faced off was at the same venue and it was City who ran out 5-0 winners, as the Citizens went on a fantastic win streak to secure third place and a Champions League spot.

Here’s how we think Pep Guardiola will set out his team for the game.
