Five Things We Learned From City vs Liverpool (H)

Manchester City and Liverpool over the past few seasons have created an intense rivalry, and when the two sides clash it is always an eventful one.

Up until Sergio Aguero’s opener in the 24th minute, Jurgen Klopp’s side were the better team, but were just lacking the final pass to unlock City’s defence. However, Kevin De Bruyne’s beauty of a pass fell to the feet of Aguero who skipped around Simon Mignolet and made it 1-0.

The most talked about moment of the match was Sadio Mane’s red card in the 37th minute after his high boot went into the face of City keeper Ederson. At first the dismissal seemed harsh, but after many replays, fans and pundits slowly changed their mind as to whether referee Jon Moss made the right decision.

The floodgates then opened for City as playing against a Pep Guardiola team with 10 men always proves to be a difficult task.

Two goals from Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane made it 5-0 come full time.

So after what was an impressive display from City, here are five things to take from City vs Liverpool.

matchday.
