Combined XI: Manchester City v West Ham

City are looking to continue their fine vein of form this weekend, when West Ham United visit The Etihad for our second home league game of the season. So far, we’ve successfully dispatched Sunderland 2-1 on the opening day, before putting four past Stoke at the Britannia – historically one of our toughest grounds – to go top of the table on goals scored.

But West Ham are reeling after a shock Europa League exit to Astra Giurgiu on Thursday, and could put up a fight when they come to the north-west in Sunday’s late game.

They recovered from an opening day loss at Chelsea to beat Bournemouth 1-0 in the first ever game at the London Stadium last week, so you could be forgiven for being a little worried about Sunday – after all, they did beat us 2-1 here last year, kicking off a run of very poor home results against the top teams.

But to put things into perspective, we’re having a look at a combined XI for the teams. Realistically, which West Ham players could get into our team?
