Man City head to Old Trafford on Sunday looking to extend a remarkable Premier League record against Manchester United.
City have won nine Premier League games at Old Trafford – more than any other visiting club. They have also scored 37 Premier League goals there, with only Liverpool, on 41, managing more as an away side.
Man City chasing tenth Old Trafford win
City have won nine of the 28 Premier League derbies played at Old Trafford, with United winning 13. The most recent meeting there did go United’s way. Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu scored in a 2-0 victory in January, ending City’s 13-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
That result gives Enzo Maresca’s side something to put right on Sunday. City go into the game with a perfect Premier League record this season after victories over Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Coventry City.
United have taken four points from their opening three league games, beating Ipswich Town, drawing with Everton and losing at Hull City. They also have a shorter turnaround before the derby, with Michael Carrick’s side in European action against Sabah on Thursday night.
For City, the target is a tenth Premier League victory at Old Trafford – and an extension of a record no other visiting club can match.
